Everything you need to master the International Medical Admissions Test (IMAT) and secure your place at an Italian medical university.

What is the IMAT?

The IMAT (International Medical Admissions Test) is the mandatory entrance exam for all students (EU and non-EU) wishing to study Medicine, Surgery, or Dentistry in English at public Italian universities.

It is a 100-minute, 60-question multiple-choice test. The sections are:

  • Logical Reasoning & Problem Solving: 10 questions
  • General Knowledge: 12 questions
  • Biology: 18 questions
  • Chemistry: 12 questions
  • Mathematics & Physics: 8 questions

Scoring: 1.5 points for a correct answer, -0.4 for a wrong answer, and 0 for no answer.

The test is typically held once per year in early September at various test centers around the world.
