What is the IMAT?
The IMAT (International Medical Admissions Test) is the mandatory entrance exam for all students (EU and non-EU) wishing to study Medicine, Surgery, or Dentistry in English at public Italian universities.
It is a 100-minute, 60-question multiple-choice test. The sections are:
- Logical Reasoning & Problem Solving: 10 questions
- General Knowledge: 12 questions
- Biology: 18 questions
- Chemistry: 12 questions
- Mathematics & Physics: 8 questions
Scoring: 1.5 points for a correct answer, -0.4 for a wrong answer, and 0 for no answer.
The test is typically held once per year in early September at various test centers around the world.
